Prayer

Our Father

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive others. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Return

Glory Be (Doxology)

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and and to the Holy Spirit.  As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Act of Contrition

O my God, I'm heartily sorry for having offended thee, and I detest all my sins, because they offend Thee, my God, Who is all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace, to sin no more and to avoid the nearest occasion of sin. Amen.

Healing

Lord, look upon me with the eyes of your mercy. May your healing hand rest upon me. May your life-giving powers flow into every cell of my body and into the depths of my soul, cleansing, purifying, and restoring me to wholeness and strength for service in your kingdom.

O God, you are the only source of health and healing, the Spirit of calm and the central peace of this universe. Grant me such a consciousness of your indwelling and surrounding presence that I may permit you to give me health and strength and peace though Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen

Prayer for forgiveness

O Lord, Jesus Christ, Redeemer and Saviour, forgive my sins, just as You forgave Peter's denial and those who crucified You. Count not my transgressions, but, rather, my tears of repentance. Remember not my iniquities, but, more especially, my sorrow for the offenses I have committed against You. I long to be true to Your Word, and pray that You will love me and come to make Your dwelling place within me. I promise to give You praise and glory in love and in service all the days of my life. Return

Prayer to forgive others

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give me this day my daily bread. And forgive me my trespasses as I forgive (name of person you want to forgive). And lead me not into temptation, but deliver me from evil. Amen. Return

Prayer for those Affected by Violence

Lord Jesus, because You suffered and died for us, You know most intimately how intense is the shock and how unique is the grief when one dies by violence. In the face of so much tragedy in the world may our hearing of it inspire us to pray regularly for all who experience this trauma and for those who are dear to them. Like Your all-embracing love, may our charity extend to every person responsible for those affronts to human dignity and God's honor. Let not the usual remoteness of these actions lead us to indifference or insensitivity to the need for this prayer, for we all are truly members...love another...may our prayers reinforce our witness so that the violence of our times may be overcome and its resultant bitterness be transcended by You who alone combats the hatreds of the human heart. Return

When you are afraid

"The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom should I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" Psalm 27:1 Return

When you feel alone

Dear Gracious and Loving God, help me to feel your presence. My heart aches and I feel so alone. I miss a human touch, someone to take my hand or give me a hug. I long for someone to tell me everything will be alright. Please send your Comforter to me and take this loneliness away. Help me instead of feeling empty, to feel full of the love you have for me. Help me to know in my heart and remember that according to your Word; I am never alone because you are with me. Your love and peace is with me, right now, in this moment. I feel it and I am not alone. Amen

Apostle's Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried, He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty, from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
